Stanford Mars Rover
Each year, our Mars Rover team designs and builds a rover to compete at the international University Rover Challenge hosted at the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah. The challenge has four components: extreme retrieval, equipment servicing, science, and autonomy.
In 2018, our first year competing, we placed second-to-last. Over the 2018-19 school year, we learned from our (many) mistakes and went on to win third place overall in our second year. We were the highest-scoring team in the United States and received the highest score of any team on the autonomy challenge.
